KU’s Public Safety Office issued an alert Wednesday following a series of violent crimes close to the KU campus over the weekend.

Police reported a home invasion on the 1200 block of Tennessee St. Two armed persons forced their way into the home and robbed the occupant.

In a separate incident on the 1300 block of Tennessee, a group of five to 10 people broken into a home and battered the residents, police said.

And in a third incident, a man reported being beaten and robbed by four people while walking in the 1200 block of Louisiana.

Police urged students and residents to make sure they lock their doors and avoid walking alone.
