City manager to earn $125,000 per year

New City Manager David Corliss will be making a salary slightly higher than his predecessor.

City commissioners are scheduled to approve a contract for Corliss that will pay him $125,000 per year. That’s an increase from the $115,000 per year salary he made as interim city manager. It also is up from the $103,000 salary he was making as an assistant city manager. Corliss also will receive $15,000 in deferred compensation to be placed in a retirement account and a $5,000 per year vehicle allowance.

Those terms are similar to what former City Manager Mike Wildgen was being paid before he resigned under pressure in March. Wildgen, who had served as city manager for 16 years, was making a salary of $124,778, and received deferred compensation of $10,706 per year. He also received a $5,000 car allowance.

Commissioners advertised the position as having a starting salary between $120,000 and $135,000.
