Violent culture

To the editor:

I think we need to be asking ourselves: Why do we see so much civilian violence today?

Why are bombings on the rise?

Why are home invasions on the rise?

Why are drive-by shootings on the rise?

Why are so many people cruising around armed with guns and looking for trouble?

Why are armed invasions of schools and student shootings on the rise by old and young alike?

To find the answer let’s ask ourselves: What country has invaded and bombed and taken captives and cruised around armed and shot up a civilian population, and generally set a bad example for all and made such violence seem to be perfectly normal and acceptable today with continual reminders that to be “right” is to invade and take armed action and that to protest such armed action is somehow un-American?

If the Democrats need a better plan to offer voters, they need look no further than a plan to appear to the masses to be backing away from violence and working at helping instead of invading others. There is no better way to make terrorists seem uninteresting than to have them point to a country and a people and yell at onlookers “they are the infidels” when, if one looks, that country and those people are obviously all elbows helping others achieve a safer and better life.
