Lawrence commuter report

The following construction projects may affect commuter traffic in the region this week:

Interstate 70, from the East Topeka to Lecompton exits, widening project under way.

Bridge repair on U.S. Highway 59 as it crosses over Big Slough Creek north of Oskaloosa.

Intermittent lane closures south of Lansing due to road reconstruction.

The ramp from northbound Interstate 435 onto Interstate 70 will be closed for bridge rehabilitation.

Interstate 35 at 87th Street, several ramps closed due to bridge construction. Commuters should use 95th Street if traveling north on Interstate 35 or 75th Street if traveling south.

The following ongoing construction projects may affect city traffic this week:

The bridge over the Kansas Turnpike on Kasold Drive, north of Peterson Road, will be closed due to reconstruction.

Work on sanitary sewer pump stations in north Lawrence may create traffic impacts on North, Grant or Walnut streets.

The eastbound lane of Sixth Street will be closed east of Massachusetts for curb repair.

New Hampshire between Sixth and Seventh streets is being rebuilt. Traffic will be limited to one lane in each direction.

Asphalt, curb and gutter repair will restrict parking on Barker Court.

Kasold Drive, between 22nd Street and Bob Billings Parkway, will be reduced to one lane of traffic. The speed limit has been reduced to 20 mph to provide a safe work environment.
