Law enforcement report

A tire in the eastbound lanes of the Kansas Turnpike near Lawrence caused havoc for some drivers Friday night.

About a half-dozen cars were damaged when they struck the tire, which was in the roadway near the Lawrence service area, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority dispatcher. No one was injured.

Details about how the tire got there were not available.
