Two drivers injured in afternoon wreck

Lawrence police officers responded Wednesday afternoon to a two-vehicle injury accident at 27th and Missouri streets.

According to Lawrence Police spokeswoman Kim Murphree, a 15-year-old driving north on Missouri Street failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign and collided with a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old Lawrence man that had been eastbound on 27th Street.

The wreck happened about 1:45 p.m.

The 29-year-old was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital by ambulance with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening. The 15-year-old suffered minor injuries and was released to his parents at the scene.
