To the editor:

I am having a hard time understanding why Nancy Pelosi and George W. Bush may not get along. Pelosi voted for the original USA Patriot Act and the awful No Child Left Behind mandate. Both have been advocates for a larger federal government and have disrespected the Constitution. I’m sure they will be very happy together.

The notion that the shift in power will “change” the course of Congress is naive and dangerous. If you feel government is too large and too intrusive, the only real option left is to vote Libertarian. As Bill Ferguson noted in his Nov. 10 opinion piece, “Libertarians got his vote,” at some point it is important to vote your conscience.
