Protection One Inc., a Lawrence-based provider of monitored-security services, announced a trial partnership Tuesday with the owner of Nationwide Insurance to provide co-branded services for customers in Ohio.

Protection One is working with Nationwide Property Protection Services LLC to provide the home-security package, which combines Protection One’s monitored services and equipment with an insurance product from Nationwide.

By signing up for the package, customers receive a discount on their homeowners insurance policies through Nationwide. Protection One also agrees to pay insurance deductibles on insurance claims related to burglary or water damage of a property when monitored by Protection One.

Protection One’s corporate headquarters is in the I-70 Business Center, 1035 N. Third St.
