Just quit smoking

November 15, 2006

Quit smoking. It's all mind control. Stick with that. Your mind will take over and the SMOKING WILL STOP. I finally woke up one morning and said to myself, "I don't smoke any more." I have not smoked since 1985. It was a relief not to have to leave a concert or anything else to smoke . The rewards are money saved, better health, etc. I haven't had a cold since I dont' smoke anymore. It's like a firm pledge to myself and anyone around me that I don't smoke anymore. Give it another try if necessary. That one clear thought without being nagged was like turning the key in a lock. It's still locked.

This article couldn't have come at a better time. Today was my first day quitting after smoking for 20 years of my life. It's been a rough day, but will all be worth the pride in saying I completed the task.

It takes 21 consecutive attempts to finally change a habit and this habit might take 45 consecutive attempts. Either way, I plan on seeing this through.
