Jim Clark Motors is 50 years old, and owner Loris “Junior” Brubeck has invited 5,000 of his closest friends to join in the celebration.

Brubeck, who started working at the Lawrence dealership four months after Jim Clark opened it in 1956, this weekend is welcoming friends, customers, former employees and others who have helped make the business a success.

“I just want people to come in so I can tell them thank you,” said Brubeck, who started his career “sweeping the floors” in the body shop and soon moved into management. He finished buying the dealership in the early 1990s.

Jim Clark Motors sells new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Volkswagen vehicles, and used vehicles, at 2121 W. 29th Terrace.
