The 800 block of Massachusetts Street was blocked off shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday in response to a fire call.

A hook-and-ladder truck from Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical was parked in front of Prairie Patches, 821 Mass., with its ladder extended to the top of the building, while a small group of people looked on. No flames could be seen, however.
