Group still looking for Kansan of the Year

The Native Sons and Daughters of Kansas are still accepting nominations for the 2006 Kansan of the Year and 2006 Distinguished Kansan of the Year.

The last day for nominations to be postmarked or e-mailed is Thursday.

The organization is seeking nominees that have added to the heritage of Kansas through careers or public service, the group said.

Honorees will be recognized at the organization’s annual meeting and banquet Jan. 26, 2007, at Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka.
