Lawrence city commissioners had a short meeting Tuesday afternoon primarily to pay bills and take care of other routine business.

Several commissioners were out of town and participated via conference calls. Commissioners did approve a site plan for Lawrence Memorial Hospital that will allow LMH to move ahead with plans to build a temporary parking lot on its campus. The temporary lot is needed to replace some parking that will be lost during construction of an expansion project at the hospital.

City commissioners will not meet next week because it is the fifth Tuesday of the month.
