Doctor to serve on national board

Dr. Donald Hatton, of Reed Medical Group in Lawrence, has been selected to serve for one year on the executive committee of the Board of Governors to the American College of Physicians.

The American College of Physicians is a Philadelphia-based national organization of internists - physicians who specialize in the prevention, detection and treatment of adult illnesses.

With more than 119,000 members, the ACP is the largest medical-speciality organization and second-largest physician group in the United States. ACP provides information and advocacy for its members as they practice internal medicine and related subspecialties. ACP members also are involved in medical education, research and administration. Membership also includes medical students, residents and fellows.

Hatton is governor of the Kansas Chapter of the American College of Physicians.
