Altered state?
To the editor:
The May 18 Associated Press article titled “DNA study shows early humans, chimps monkeyed around” made me wonder if perhaps this coincided with the discovery of fermentation, or the use of naturally occurring fermented organic material. The consumption of fermented products makes the unappealing look attractive to some people.
