To the editor:

I read somewhere that President Truman said if his right arm was a Republican he would cut it off. Myself, I think I would try to work something out.

The reason I mention this is because I am very sure that many Republicans feel the same way about Democrats and I am hoping that they will be able to be level-headed enough to realize this isn’t their father’s Republican Party anymore and allow the Democrats a chance to bring our state and country back to the center where it should be.

So if you can’t bring yourself to vote for a Democratic candidate, then stay home or vote for a third party or write in a name. As for the independent voters, this is the time to join the Democrats. I know there are many moderate Republicans who are not happy with what is happening to their party and they can bring their party back to their senses by voting for a Democratic candidate.
