To the editor:

I would just like to say something about the coverage of the Lawrence High School baseball victory over Shawnee Mission Northwest (Journal-World, May 10). I find it appalling the lack of depth put into a victory over such a dominating team. However, Free State’s loss took up much more space in the paper. I don’t know the politics that are involved in sports coverage, but the LHS boys deserve to be congratulated and celebrated for their tremendous victory.

As a senior at Lawrence High, I would like to see the year ended with equal and supportive coverage of such an amazing and hardworking team. They deserve it and for you to not provide them with equal praise is ridiculous.
