The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that Laura J. Miller, 19, Spring Hill, has died from injuries she suffered in a two-vehicle accident April 29 at Baldwin Junction south of Lawrence.

Miller, who was taken to Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., after the wreck, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Jennifer Jamison, 19, Spring Hill. Jamison was pronounced dead after the wreck.

Jamison was driving a Honda Civic west on U.S. Highway 56 and was struck by a northbound Dodge Dakota pickup truck as she crossed U.S. Highway 59. According to a report, Jamison had stopped before crossing the road but failed to yield to the pickup truck.

The driver of the truck was identified as Chauncey Russell, 20, Ottawa. He was not seriously injured.
