Douglas County commissioners will consider allowing a conditional use permit for the storage of trucks and construction equipment along U.S. Highway 40 at their meeting tonight.

Jayhawk Excavating Inc. wants to allow multiple contracting firms to store equipment at 1611 E. 779 Road, which is along the north side of U.S. 40 about two miles west of Lawrence.

Commissioners also will discuss renewal of the county health insurance plan.

Commissioners will meet at 6:35 p.m. on the second floor of the Douglas County Courthouse, 1100 Mass.
