Leavenworth ? Quinn Klutman led Free State High’s golf team with a 77, and Nick Burkart was just a stroke behind Monday at the Leavenworth Invitational at Leavenworth Country Club. FSHS was 10th in the team race with 317 strokes.

Levi Oxford and Austin Rueschhoff each shot 80 to lead Lawrence High, which placed 16th with 340 strokes.

The meet also served as the second half of the Sunflower League championship.

Free State also picked up a point in the Journal-World Cup, the seasonlong tally of head-to-head results between the city’s two biggest high schools. Free State leads the J-W Cup, 14-10.

LHS and Free State will compete Wednesday in the Lawrence Invitational at Alvamar.
