Overland Park ? Free State High continued its dominance, overmatching Blue Valley North, 19-1, in a five-inning nonleague road game Monday afternoon.

Jon Sneegas (3-0) went the distance, allowed three hits, walked two and struck out three for the Firebirds, who continue their schedule today with a 5:30 start at Olathe North. A victory would enable Free State to win the Sunflower League title outright.

The top six hitters in the batting order all had multiple-hit games for the Firebirds (16-2).

“Jon was able to pitch with the lead, and sometimes that’s easier said than done,” Free State coach Mike Hill said.
