Possible stabbing in downtown Lawrence

Lawrence Police officers were investigating a possible stabbing Saturday night in downtown Lawrence after a man with a blood-soaked shirt was loaded into an ambulance.

Police and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical received a call about 10 p.m. of a possible stabbing near the corner of 11th and Massachusetts streets.

Officers and medical workers assisted the man on the sidewalk at the northwest corner of the intersection, in front of the Watkins Community Museum of History, 1047 Mass. Blood had soaked through his shirt on his back near the right shoulder.
