Junior Achievement elects chairman
Jamie Lowe, of U.S. Bank, was named chairman of the Lawrence Junior Achievement board of directors at Tuesday’s volunteer recognition luncheon at Hereford House.
Sonya Carter, of Hallmark Cards Inc., was chosen vice president of finance and Roger Scott, of Scott Temperature, was re-elected vice president of programs.
Patrick Knorr, of Sunflower Broadband, is secretary and Jeff Novorr, of Lawrence Memorial Hospital, is director of the organization’s annual bowlathon.
New to the 25-member board are Laura Hiebert-Carbrey, of Dale Willey Automotive; Deborah Kurtz, of CornerBank; and Michelle Fales, of Peoples Bank.
Lawrence Junior Achievement, financed through the bowlathon and by donations from businesses in Lawrence, provides classroom volunteers to educate young people about the role of economics in their daily lives.
