The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department released the name of a woman killed Saturday in a wreck on U.S. Highway 59.

Spring Hill resident Jennifer Jamison, 20, was killed after a Dodge Dakota truck struck her driver’s side door when she attempted to cross Highway 59 while headed west on U.S. Highway 56.

Her passenger, 20-year-old Laura Miller, also from Spring Hill, was transported by ambulance to Kansas University Hospital in critical condition.

No condition update was available Sunday.

The department did not identify the driver of the truck, who refused medical attention at the scene.
