A Lawrence salon owner and hair stylist died Wednesday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a battle with cancer.

Kelly Hale, 38, co-owned and operated Statements Hair Salon, 2500 W. Sixth St., with Lisa Stewart.

On March 9, 16 local salons donated most of their profits for the day to Hale’s family to help pay for her medical care.

Hale co-owned her salon with Stewart for seven years. Before that, she worked for 10 years at Becky’s Salon in Lawrence.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
