Security at stake

To the editor:

This is in response to Leonard Pitts’ March 18 column about what the people of tomorrow will think of us today.

Fortunately, I have some of the people of tomorrow in my house right now. I also have a few living around my neighborhood.

For your information, their questions are along the lines of, “How could the liberal press along with a bunch of left-wing hate mongers leak information that the intelligence community was monitoring our enemies’ communications and how they were doing it during a state of war?”

Even at their young age they know treason when they see it. You can spin this subject all you want, but these kids know that the president of the United States and the intelligence world is fighting a war and doesn’t have time to listen in on the local gossip. And when tomorrow calls today to account, they’re not going to want to hear, “we stood up, we called out, we were not silent.” They’re going to want answers to the questions of why, why would you do such a thing when the security of our beloved country, our security, is at stake.
