To the editor:

I want to take this opportunity to thank the Journal-World and Channel 6 for their coverage of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and in particular for the pictures and footage of the Jefferson County North High School Marching Band.

Every Friday we have a cash drawing at school where students can win for showing their “Green Pride” (our colors are kelly green and white). It was only natural then that our students would want to take a day out of their spring break to share that “Green Pride” with the Irish and nearly Irish in Lawrence.

Every experience, save a few cool breezes, that the students had here on Friday was positive. I’m sure that I speak for the students and sponsors when I say that we would love to make this a yearly trip to share a little bit of “Erin” from Northeast Jefferson County.
