Monday’s rain and snow eased dry conditions enough in Douglas and surrounding counties that county commissioners removed bans on burning. Douglas County commissioners had issued a burn ban a week ago because of dry, windy conditions. The ban, which had been requested by township fire chiefs, was removed Monday.

Burn bans also had been in effect in Leavenworth, Franklin and Jefferson counties until Monday. They also were removed.
