Fair to give options for disability services

As a forum on disability-related topics for individuals, families and caregivers to learn more about area service providers, the Douglas/Jefferson County Transition Council will host the sixth annual Community Resource Expo.

The event, also known as the Resource Fair, will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. April 11 at Free State High School, 4700 Overland Drive.

After the fair, speakers will make presentations about current disability resource funding from 6:40 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Individuals can explore options and gather information to assist them in accessing services and planning for future needs. Admission is free and open to anyone. Child care will be available.

Those needing special accommodations should contact Linda Wildgen at 832-5050, ext. 221, or wildgen@usd497.org, before March 28. Service providers who had not yet registered can contact Shelia Vander Tuig at (785) 594-2737 or svandertuig@mchsi.com. For more information, visit www.dougandjeffstransition.org.
