To the editor:

I’m having a hard time believing the state school board’s decision about “opt-in” sex education. I truly believe that this board would pass (6-4) a requirement for all female school children to wear chastity belts. These people need to wake up and smell the pheromones. Kids are going to have sex. Their parents’ generation did it, their grandparents’ generation did it. We are sexual animals.

I do believe that abstinence should be taught in the sex education class, but birth control and sexually transmitted disease avoidance should be covered also. In essence, what the board is doing with this legislation will increase the number of teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. Wake up, Kansas! Let’s vote these bums out!
