Jack Kemp to give Vickers lecture at KU

Jack Kemp, a former vice presidential candidate, will present Kansas University’s School of Business 2006 J.A. Vickers Sr. and Robert F. Vickers Sr. Memorial Lecture at 7 p.m. March 27 at the Lied Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Kemp, a former congressman and presidential cabinet secretary who is now a businessman and chairman of two companies with global interests, will present “America’s Global Leadership Imperative.”

Kemp was secretary of housing and urban development before becoming the 1996 Republican vice presidential nominee and running mate to Bob Dole. He is founder and chairman of Kemp Partners, a strategic consulting firm, and serves as chairman of the board of directors of FreeMarket Global Limited.
