Amy Myers has been named a clinical case manager at Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center. She will be working in the multisystemic therapy program, which works with troubled youths. Myers previously was employed as an addictions therapist at Renaissance West/New House in Kansas City, Mo. She earned a master’s degree in social work from Kansas University.

¢ Steve Bradt, brewmaster for Free State Brewing Co., has been elected to the board of directors of the Brewers Assn. The Boulder, Colo.-based group is a national trade association for American craft brewers. Bradt previously served on the transitional board of directors, which oversaw the merger of the Association of Brewers and the Brewers Association of America into the new organization. He also serves as secretary/treasurer for the board.

¢ Nicholas Lerner has joined Reece & Nichols Acres Realty in Lawrence as a licensed real estate salesman in Kansas. He was employed at Rudy’s Pizzeria in Lawrence. He is the assistant commissioner of the Kaw Valley Kickball League.

¢ Dan Cary, a senior financial adviser with Ameriprise Financial Services Inc., was among a select group of advisers invited to attend the company’s national Retirement Wealth Strategies forum. The event, which was Feb. 27-March 1 in Philadelphia, focused on providing the latest strategies and solutions for helping people achieve financial security in retirement.

¢ Steve Mona, chief executive officer of Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, announce the promotions of Shari Koehler and Chava McKeel.

Koehler, formerly director of education operations, has been promoted to director of education. She will oversee the development and delivery of a competency-based continuing education program for golf course superintendents. She began working for the company in 1996 as a production assistant in the publications department. Since then, she has been chapter seminar administrator, chapter seminar manager and senior manager of chapter seminars.

McKeel, formerly government relations manager, has been promoted to senior manager of government relations. She is responsible for state and local government relations activities and assisting members with regulatory compliance issues. She began working for GCSAA in 1997 as communications coordinator. She also has served as government relations coordinator and legislative analyst.

LINE-X Spray-on Truck Bedliners franchise chain has received the No. 1 ranking for 2006 in the Miscellaneous Auto Products & Services category by Entrepreneur Magazine.

Darla and Randy Blecha, of LINE-X Spray-on Truck Bedliners of Lawrence, received a certificate of recognition at the corporation’s North American Dealers meeting Feb. 9-12 in Dallas.

Entrepreneur Magazine’s 27th annual “Franchise 500” rankings are the most comprehensive franchise rankings in the world and consider many factors, including financial strength and stability, growth rate, the size of the system and startup costs.

Coming events

Lada Salon & Spa will have its Earth Day Fashion Show and Silent Auction at 7 p.m. April 20 at Liberty Hall. The event will feature local designers and is a fundraiser for the Honor the Earth Foundation, with all proceeds benefiting the Haskell-Baker Wetlands preservation effort. Tickets cost $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets are available at Liberty Hall, 642 Mass., and the salon, 4931 W. Sixth St.

¢ The monthly meeting of the Twilight Chapter of the American Business Women’s Assn. will be Monday at the American Legion building. Networking begins at 6 p.m. and dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Mona Kerns, of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Douglas County, will give the program. The club also will mark its 45th anniversary.
