Toni Ramirez Wheeler, a staff attorney for the city of Lawrence, was elected Friday to serve a two-year term on the board of directors for the City Attorneys Association of Kansas.

Wheeler’s election came during the association’s meeting in Salina, when she also participated in a panel discussion about municipal smoking ordinances.

Wheeler’s presentation included a review of the adoption and enforcement of Lawrence’s smoking regulations.
