Douglas County Medical Reserve Corps seeks volunteers from all fields willing to help in a public health emergency situation. Volunteers serve during nonemergency times as educators on healthy living issues and activate in response to public health emergencies and community disasters. Immediate volunteer needs

¢ Wednesdays at Liberty Hall is recruiting junior high-aged volunteers interested in becoming youth leaders for the W@LH project. Teen volunteers will become the W@LH Youth Advisory Council. The council will be responsible for helping to organize W@LH events such as dances, concerts, and art shows in addition to helping to provide youth leadership and support for the overall W@LH project. ¢ The Lawrence Meals on Wheels program is in need of volunteer drivers to assist with meal delivery for a recently established delivery route. Volunteers deliver lunch to homebound community members who are elderly and/or disabled. Driver positions are available each day of the week. Route delivery takes approximately 45 minutes. ¢ Lawrence Arts Center, 940 N.H., is now recruiting volunteers to assist with its summer youth art education classes. Opportunities to share art skills, including ceramics, painting, photography and more, occur weekday mornings and afternoons during the summer months. Artistic expertise is not required. ¢ The Strategic Education Center is seeking community-minded individuals to join the board of directors. Previous experience in fundraising would be a plus. A three-year time commitment, with monthly board meetings and committee meeting attendance is required. The Strategic Education Center is a nonprofit tutoring center dedicated to assisting learners of all ages and backgrounds.
