Dog rescue

To the editor:

I just heard about the dog being left in the car at the movie theater with the window cracked.

People, do you not understand that animals are like people? They get overheated just like we do. And for those of you that love to run in the middle of the day on a 90-degree day, leave the dog home. Their body heat is higher than ours, and have you ever run in the heat with a fur coat on? Try it. I doubt you go far. But for those that insist on it, take your shoes off, put your feet on the concrete or asphalt. If it’s too hot for your feet, then it’s too hot for your dog’s feet.

My other question is why did it take the police department an hour to respond to the dog that was in distress? Were there some leftover hippies from the Wakarusa Fest in town?
