Plan to evaluate land on county agenda
A “first draft” plan for identifying and evaluating land for industrial and business parks as well as open space preservation will be presented to the Douglas County Commission this morning.
The plan is in the third annual report prepared by the ECO2 Commission. The ECO2 group also will make a presentation to Lawrence city commissioners Tuesday night.
Also on today’s agenda, the County Commission will:
¢ Consider taking action on petitions for three sewer benefit districts for the proposed Fairfield Farms additions south of Kansas Highway 10 along O’Connell Road.
¢ Discuss annexation issues with rural water district representatives.
¢ Consider a consulting service contract for the courthouse renovation project.
Commissioners will meet at 8:30 a.m. on the second floor of the county courthouse, 1100 Mass.
