Seminar to offer ‘Fixes that Fail’

The KU Small Business Development Center this week will present “Fixes that Fail,” a business management seminar.

The seminar will be from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, 734 Vt.

“Fixes that Fail” is designed for business owners who spend significant time and energy solving problems, only to have some of them return.

Craig Cochran, a management consultant, will discuss why some problems are chronic, and why some solutions actually are problems. He will discuss the value of problem solving, teaching attendees how to identify the underlying structure of a problem and to use structure to create solutions.

The seminar cost is $60 for pre-registered attendees and $70 for walk-in attendees. Pre-registration is encouraged as seating is limited.

To register, call 843-8844 or e-mail the center at maggie32@ku.edu.
