Fund set up for injured 2-year-old Eudora girl

A fund has been established to assist a Eudora girl and her family with expenses after the girl was injured in an accident.

Alexis Foster, 2, lost a foot when a mower driven by her mother backed over her June 10. The mother called for help and then tended to her daughter, stopping the bleeding, said the girl’s aunt, Kylee Foster.

Alexis was flown to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. She was in good spirits and might be released from the hospital this weekend, Kylee Foster said.

Neither parent is able to work at this time. Her father, Philip Foster, suffered a back injury, and her mother, Donna Foster, is a child care provider, but she has to spend much of her time with her daughter at the hospital.

An account has been set up at Douglas County Bank in Eudora to assist the family with living expenses. Cash or checks to the Foster Account may be donated at any Douglas County Bank branch.
