A final replat for Eagle Ridge subdivision No. 2 allowing construction of a barn on property southwest of Lawrence was approved Monday by the Douglas County Commission.

The replat combines two existing lots into one, covering about 13 acres on property belonging to Jan Adamson at 786 North 988 Road.

Commissioners deferred action on a rezoning request for 88 acres owned by Freestate LLC at North 1600 Road and East 550 Road. The company seeks a change from agriculture to residential zoning so 15 single-family lots could be developed.

Representatives of Freestate were unable to attend Monday’s meeting.

The Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Commission has recommended denying the rezoning because it is inconsistent with the city-county planning document, Horizon 2020.
