City seeks input on development issues
The city is seeking focus groups made up of area residents to help it determine how to improve its planning and development processes.
The city and its consultant, Matrix Consulting Group, will coordinate five focus groups this week. Those groups are: the development community, from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department building, 200 Maine; Lawrence Chamber of Commerce members from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the chamber’s offices, 734 Vt.; neighborhood representatives from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital auditorium, 325 Maine St.; the development community from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at LMH; and residents from the rural areas, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at LMH.
Space is limited in each session, so the city is asking people to reserve a seat by calling 832-3400.
A final report on the city’s planning and development process is expected to be delivered to city commissioners this summer.
