Ten Lawrence bachelors raised more than $7,500 to provide health care to uninsured Douglas County residents Thursday by auctioning themselves off for dates.

The bachelors offered “exotic” dates, handyman hours, baseball lessons and a stay in France in exchange for contributions to the Health Care Access Clinic.

Dates were donated as many as three times, organizers said.
