New agents hired for 4-H program

The Douglas County office of K-State Research and Extension is revamping its 4-H Youth Development program with its first pair of full-time staffers.

Emily Morehouse, a graduate of the University of Illinois and former intern at the Illinois State 4-H Office, will head the program. Kjrsten Abel Ruch, a graduate of Truman State University and three-year Douglas County Extension office employee, will coordinate 4-H programs.

The new agents were hired to help boost the program’s prominence as a youth development program for Douglas County children. A reception for Morehouse and Ruch will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. June 19 at the extension office, 2110 Harper St.
