Christina Jordan, Lawrence, received the Irwin Cantor Innovative Program Award from the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts during the international organization’s annual meeting June 1 in Palm Harbor, Fla.

Jordan, a court-appointed mediator for Johnson County Court Services, received the award for creating and developing Higher Ground, an educational program for high-conflict families.

The court-ordered program for separated parents educates families about creating healthy restructured homes, provides concrete approaches to cooperative parenting and offers peer support and learning opportunities for applying conflict resolution skills to parenting decisions.
