Iraq war veteran dies in vehicle crash
Arcadia ? A National Guard soldier who had recently returned from Iraq was killed when his pickup truck hit a cow on a rural road in southeast Kansas.
Jason Loden, 28, of Fort Scott, died late Friday night in the collision, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department said.
After hitting the cow, the truck went into a ditch, hit an electric pole and overturned, pinning Loden. The county coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.
Loden was a member of the Kansas National Guard’s 891st Engineering Battalion and had recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq.
