Pastor’s car burglarized during rural wedding

Holy matrimony led to auto burglary this weekend for a local pastor.

Paul Taylor, associate pastor of Mustard Seed Christian Fellowship, had his car burglarized Saturday evening at a wedding reception south of Lawrence in the 1300 section of 1293 Road.

He had officiated at the wedding ceremony earlier in the day.

It appeared the thief used a “slim jim” to enter Taylor’s car, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Items stolen included a $1,700 laptop computer and a digital camera.

“I was parked on the edge of the parking lot close by a tree,” Taylor said.

Taylor said he didn’t make a fuss about it at the scene.

“It certainly had nothing to do with the young couple. I didn’t want to have that affect them,” he said.
