Vandal causes $2,500 in damage near school

An unknown vandal has caused more than $2,500 in damage in recent days to an outdoor recreation area behind Raintree Montessori School, 4601 Clinton Parkway, police said Wednesday.

Police said it appears that whoever is causing the damage is coming to the school to swim, based on cuts in the school’s vinyl pool covers that have caused $2,500 in damage.

School officials first noticed the pool covers damaged between May 15 and May 20. Then, between Friday and Tuesday, someone entered the area again, threw a PVC pipe into the pool and caused $75 in damage to a table.
