Course to help families deal with mental illness

Starting Aug. 1, National Alliance on Mental Illness-Kansas will host “Family to Family,” a 12-week course designed to help families cope with mental illness.

“It’s for anyone who’s in a care-taking position,” said course instructor Alan Miller.

Classes will be from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, 325 Maine. Enrollment will be capped at 15.

People interested in taking the free course are asked to contact Miller in advance, at 760-3747 (days) or 594-6648 (evenings).
