Alvamar Inc. elects five new board members

Owners of Alvamar Inc. elected a board of directors with five new faces and two familiar ones during a special meeting Thursday night.

Now the new majority directors – C.W. Allerheiligen, Cameron Barnes, Michael Easterday, Robert McKinney and Jerry Waugh – join holdovers Beverly Smith Billings and Bob Johnson to determine just what to do about golf course operations that cost the club money, while real estate holdings continue to shrink.

After Thursday night’s meeting, World Online Business Editor Mark Fagan and 6News photographer John Weldon caught up with Tom Murray, attorney for the Alvamar Group of Concerned Investors, which landed the new faces on the board after pushing for changes at the company.

Murray discusses the potential for changes – in management, employment and otherwise – as the new board gets to work.
