Hot enough?

To the editor:

Hot enough yet? There were still plenty of pundits, who, after the first 20 days of rain or after the seventh or eighth plague, dismissed the thought that something was amiss. What’s a little rain or a few million frogs? And like the frog, despite being at the top of the food chain, we will calmly sit in water while it slowly begins to boil or watch the ravages of global warming until it is too late.

To paraphrase a quote from Sinclair Lewis (that is used in the must-see movie “An Inconvenient Truth”), it is difficult to accept truth when our lifestyle depends on not believing it.
