The Betsy Beisecker Memorial Tea will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Atrium at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, 325 Maine. During the tea, hosted by Breast Cancer Awareness of Douglas County, two Wellspring Awards will be presented, one to a professional woman and one to a volunteer who have had an impact on the fight against breast cancer in the community.

The tea memorializes Betsy Beisecker, who dedicated herself to battling cancer. Last year’s recipients were oncologist Sharon Soule, M.D., and volunteer Gloria Morton.

Tickets for the tea are $15 and can be purchased at the door.

Author Jennifer Johnson, “Nordies at Noon,” will be the guest speaker. Her book chronicles her breast cancer experience and the lives of three friends, all 30 or younger, who were diagnosed with breast cancer. The second edition of the well-received book will be released in September.
